¿Cómo ser mamá cuando todavía no se aprendió a ser mujer?

Adolescere aborda la maternidad en niñas/adolescentes de entre 12 y 18 años en Argentina.

La mayoría de los casos se dan en sectores sociales de bajos recursos y en adolescentes en situación de calle. La falta de información adecuada, la dificultad en el acceso a métodos de prevención, la promiscuidad, las relaciones forzadas o el abuso por parte de personas cercanas – a menudo sus propios familiares-, hacen que la mayoría de estos embarazos no sean planificados.

Adolescere se realizó dentro de un hogar para madres menores. Las chicas, embarazadas o junto a sus hijos, llegan allí por medio de juzgados que reciben denuncias por situación de maltrato, calle, distintos tipos de violencia e inclusive robos y adicciones.

Desde allí intentan fortalecer los vínculos afectivos con sus hijos, para que puedan asumir su presencia en la nueva vida y desarrollar su rol como madres.

¿How can you be a mother when you have yet to learn how to be a woman?

Adolescere addresses motherhood in girls between 12 and 18 years old in Argentina. Most cases occur in lower classes lacking in resources, and homeless teenagers.

The lack of proper information, the difficulties in accessing preventive methods, promiscuity, forced relations or the abuse perpetrated by close ones -often by their own relatives-, make most of these pregnancies to be unplanned.

Adolescere was done in a shelter home, with girls arriving there through judges who receive reports of abuse, homelessness, different types of violence as well as theft and addictions.

Once there, they try to strengthen the bonds with their children, so they can acknowledge their presence in this new life, and develop their role as mothers.
