Argentina has the second breast cancer death-rate in the American continent. This is the story of Gloria, one of the 17,000 cases diagnosed in the country.
On December 2010, during a routine check, a lump was detected in her left breast. Due to this she underwent a biopsy which resulted in a cancer diagnosis. On March 2011 she underwent a mastectomy procedure of her left breast. Her treatment did not require chemotherapy since the mastectomy was enough to get rid of the cancer. During the course of next year she will undergo a number of procedures to reconstruct the removed breast.
